Since the beginning of the year, I’ve declared it the year of foundation launches! Some of my favorites launches in 2018 have been NARS Natural Radiant Foundation, Tarte Shape Tape Foundation, and Becca Weightless Blur Foundation just to name a few, that have been released this year! The one not mentioned above that I’ve been wearing a lot is the Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation!
Claims & Hype About The Product
I first heard about it after seeing several of my favorite YouTube beauty guru’s with oily combination skin rave about it. It looked flawless on them, along with the fact it’s available in 30 shades had me pumped up. I decided to start researching the product and to get a sample to try it out for myself. In the past, I’ve worn and enjoyed Bobbi Brown’s foundations in liquid and stick form. After using the sample in one day, I felt it was worthy of me purchasing and testing driving it for the next few weeks.
The company makes these claims about the product, “It’s a 16-hour wear, full coverage foundation with a natural, multidimensional matte finish that’s comfortable, breathable, and weightless. It has been tried and tested in extreme heat and humidity, and this formula is waterproof and sweat- and humidity-resistant.”
Thoughts…Buy It or Pass
In my testing and wearing of this foundation, I never wear it for the complete 16 hours, but I have worn it for 12 hours. It is smooth, lightweight, and maintains its true color. I find it leaves me with very little cracking and creasing. My T-zone usually starts to look oily at about the 12-hour mark, but nothing too crazy.
In the picture above I had been wearing the foundation for about 7 hours. There was no additional face powder added nor did I use any blot papers. My concealer had started to settle in the lines under my eyes (this is normal for me especially with my leaky eyes), but that was only concealer since I don’t add foundation under my eyes.
This one is definitely a BUY IT! I mean how can you pass on something you are crushing on. I really enjoy this foundation and can tell you it performs well, even in humid climates.
Pros
- It left my skin shine-free.
- The foundation is hydrating and did not leave my skin feeling dry.
- It was smooth and extremely blendable.
- My skin was natural-looking without being cakey and any creasing after hours of wear.
Cons
- If you have dry skin, you will need to use a face oil or a good moisturizer before applying this foundation. Otherwise, it may be to dry for your skin in appearance and feel.
- This is a premium brand so the foundation is on the pricier side.
SWANKSTERS, have you tried this foundation or any of the newer foundations that have launched in 2018? If so give us the deets!
Until soon…Toodles
